AfterBeat*
Join AfterBeat, a non-profit global movement for youth using culture, dance, and music to heal war trauma.
Together, we empower the next generation, promoting healing, resilience, and peace across communities worldwide.
Vision and Purpose
We in AfterBeat envision a future where culture stands as a counterforce to war — where music, dance, and art help children heal, rebuild trust, and reclaim joy. A world where creativity restores hope, and connection becomes the strongest form of security.

What we do
AfterBeat is dedicated to utilizing creative approaches to support children and young people impacted by war and conflict. Our platform fosters collaboration among professionals and organizations, harnessing the transformative force of art and creativity. We engage in innovative methods to heal war trauma, partner with creative industries, bolster existing techniques, and create universally applicable solutions.

The AfterBeat* turns war’s downbeat into rhythm and healing.
*In music, the afterbeat is the weak, secondary part of a beat.
Afterbeat is what follows the strong downbeat.
Translated into our concept, the downbeat is war: the brutal, overwhelming force that sets the rhythm of children’s lives. The afterbeat is what comes after: music, dance, and art that create space for healing, expression, and community.

Through digital mentorship, creative guidance, and shared projects, we foster community, purpose, and hope..
More than 400 million children are growing up in war, and research shows that one in five people in conflict zones develop a mental disorder.
Untreated trauma increases the risk of violence, radicalization, and social breakdown. Through music, dance, and art, we give children the opportunity to process the war – and thereby reduce future
risks both for themselves and for all of us.
Afterbeat* uses culture as preventive security policy.

AfterBeat builds culture as a counterforce to war. We use music, dance, and art to help children and youth in conflict zones process trauma, rebuild trust, and reconnect with life.
AfterBeat treats culture as preventive security policy. We connect creative environments in war-torn areas with established artists, educators, and institutions in safer parts of the world.
Our goal is to reduce trauma, restore hope, and strengthen both individual and collective resilience through creativity.

Our Mission
At AfterBeat, we are committed to harnessing the power of culture, dance, and music to nurture healing, resilience, and peace among youth affected by war trauma. Through our immersive programs and community engagement, we strive to create a world where every young person can find hope, strength, and a sense of belonging.
